Mind is the first thing you have to work on. Most people find dieting too hard and get dissapointed fast, so this is what I did and worked great.
I joined a healthy life-style group, it wasnt that significant and I already knew most of what they taught me, but since I paid some bucks I decided to follow their advices closely.
The process is easy. First, you need to asses what you eat and how you live. Be realistic, so then you can make accurate corrections.
Once you have figured out what are the major flaws on your current lifestyle (you just need some common sense to do that), start taking some corrective meassures.
1. Cut all together all soda and flavoured drinks. No matter how much you enjoy them, they are terrible. Just by doing this, you are looking at a weight loss of aroun 20 lbs a year.
2. NO more junk food. Eat at home., cook your meals, make a plan, dont let hunger take over!
3. Eat constantly: Have around 6 meals a day, hearthy breakfast, a snack, healthy lunch, another snack, dinner, and an evening snack. This will keep your metabolism working and you will not store fat in your body!
4. Excercise: Do whatever you enjoy doing constantly, make excercising a habit, and explore as much as you want, you could be surprised to know what kind of things you can get into and actually like!
Gym is good too if you do it with motivation.
Living a healthy lifestyle is a choice, that will make your life so much enjoyable, if you really want it, do whatever it takes to make it happen, it is in your hands, trust me.

cut out all the junk food (ie. chips, pop, candy, etc...). drink a lot of water. always eat breakfast (that's what boosts your metabolism). exercise at least 3-5 times a week, i'd recommend more, though. eat five meals a day-breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. eat lots of fruits and veggies.
remember, a diet wont work unless you beleive in yorself (i know, corny, but it's true). and also, use a lot of variety, dont always eat the same kinds of foods or do the same kinds of exercises. change it up to keep yourself intrested.

Replace all the bowls and plates in your house with a stack of 6-ounce Pyrex custard cups.
If that's all you have to serve yourself food with, you will automatically eat CORRECT portions of food. If the portion doesn't fit inside that cup, it's too big.
thats pretty young to take any hardcore medication. but if you want something to stop your appetite, try those meal bars, looks like a snack, but its full of vitamins, minerals, protein, and only 230kcals which will replace a whole meal. also start taking daily vitamins and minerals as those help your metabolism.
Ok my tip is not to STARVE your self wake up early eat fruit then go running around your block then when you come back have some orange juice and toast then when its lunch time eat a healthy sandwich like with lettuce tomato lil bit of mayo and turky or sumhin then for dinner eat a good steak or chicken after dinner go running again
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.
