I have a resistence band. I use it like 10 times a day doing the same stuff. arms, back, chest, sholders.?

I know the old rule, but is it really counter-productive to do it every day vs. alternating days?

Answer:
That would depend on the strength of the bands and what exactly your trying to accomplish.
If you are using a low strength band and are toning or just trying to shape your body; everyday is the best route because the stress on the muscles is minimal.
If you are trying to develop muscle mass by using strong resistance bands; then every other day is better. When you try to build muscle, you 'tear down' the tissue and it needs at least twenty four hours to 'rebuild'. This is the muscles way of building its self. Tear it down and let it rest and build for 24-48 hrs. Failing to rest the tissue will not result in larger mass but just sore muscles.

Check out the web site burnthefat.com it has a lot of insight as to why and how to exercise for mass and/or definition.

Good luck!
