Benefits of cycling? Does it support to build muscle?
I'm 5'4" tall & weigh 153 pounds [11st 2"] & 52 years elderly.
I've bought a bicycle & have started to shift out sometimes on it. My friend says if I could cycle roughly 15 miles a day [like build up to that amount] I could firm up my butt. Is that true & can cycling day by day help to build muscles, if so, which muscles does cycling build up.
and how long would it run me?
Thankyou for help.
Answer:
Cycling is a cardio exercise that help you to burn off body solid, hence you lose weight plus it exercises your heart and lung to trademark them strong and healthy.
As for toning, cycling as a cardio exercise, will sustain to burn off flabby from your butts but will not help much contained by building up butt muscles and toning up your butts.
To tone your butts, try butt toning exercises.
Benefits of cycling:
1. Decreases risk of heart disease
2. Increases fat-burning capacity to burn body corpulent to lose weight
3. Helps declare strength and coordination as the strength and co-ordination that regular cycling brings reduce incidences of falling, injuries and hip fractures, when you're elder
4. Improves leg strength and you're in for a bonus because leg strength improve other mobility, for e.g. by allowing you to get out of any seated position more slickly and helping you to avoid falls (and the broken bones) and other injuries associated with the falls
5. Regulates blood pressure
...great form of a cardiovascular work out.it should firm up your butt and your legs.and your tummy to a level...
If you do it on a regular basis, close to cycle to work etc. then yes. If you cycle sooner or later a week it will still help but it wont do much
yeah, it will firm you butt, thighs and legs, and generate your "you know what" tight.
Well, I'd need to know what you tight-fisted by build up your muscle.
Cycling will give you a point of strength, but mostly ENDURANCE. Both are healthy muscles, but it depends on what your goal are.
Do you want the names of the
muscles or the areas? It will work foot, calves, quads, hamstrings, gluts and hip flexors. Pretty much everything from the waist down save for adductors and abductors. But not all to like degree.
How long will it bear you to get surrounded by shape and notice visable results depends on a few things; what shape are you contained by now, what intensity are you using "how plentiful rotations per minute" peddling or are you gliding? Are you going up hill or down hills?
Cardio work outs will put you within shape and have great benefit but are SLOW for making visable results contained by muscle compare to weight training. If hang on to your heartrate up to target zone AND you do it 5 times a week for a minimun 30 minutes, you should see some difference in 6 weeks.
15 minutes is not really long adequate to have body shaping improvements. Its the minimum for strength benefits.
Be sure your bike is properly fitted and you stretch properly afterwards NOT before. Good Luck and HAVE FUN!
