Can working out one muscle group decrease another?

if you isolate the muscles it does not affect them either way...however no you will not decrease muscles by working out another group unless you neglect that group entirely

working muscles of any kind cant hurt them. The only way it would decrease is if u were neglecting it and training some other instead.
You want to rotate muscle groups. The Abs are the only muscles you should work every day. I dont think they could make other muscles smaller though, they might make them appear smaller because they arent worked as much.

Doesn't flatten them out. You are still using the high portion of the pecs (where the pectoral muscles join with the deltoids) to do your curls and if you are focusing on the pecs as well by modifying your curls, you can give a large portion of the pecs a work-out as well. Butterflies are great for both. You should be able to feel what muscles are at work when you work out.
