I am a 20 year old college student who runs an average of 20 miles per week. Ive had mono and have not really run in two weeks. I tried to run two days ago but after about 2 miles I was so sore and tired. I know being sore isnt necessarily bad. Im very scared that not running is going to permanently slow my metabolism and therefore cause my future workouts and weight gain. I eat healthy, but love fats from nut, fish and organic peanutbutter. Any advice would be great :)
Answer:
Nope, you won't permanently damage your metabolism. Think of athletes who have serious injuries and can't compete for a year or two, and then come back. At your age, age 20, your metabolism is great. Stop worrying. : ) Rest up and get healthy.
