How long do I have to wait to smoke a cigarette after getting a tooth pulled?
Answer:
At the very least a couple of hours, however, if you can go 24 hours that would be better. If you absolutely can't wait then take the extra gauze (you should have been some to take home for any seepage) fold it in 1/2 then 1/2 again and place the soft rounded edge in the space where the tooth was. This will help to prevent the clot from coming out while sucking on the cigarette. Drinking from a straw is also a bad idea for the first 24 hours. These are two factors that can cause a dry-socket. Dry-socket is VERY painful and occurs when the blood clot comes out too soon.
About 10 minutes or however long it takes to escape from the building, use "Herbal" not tobacco et high not cancerous.
how about you stop smoking all together!
you do like to live right?
I don't think you have to wait at all, consult with your dentist to be sure.
I remember reading a pamphlet the dentist gave me after getting a wisdom tooth pulled it said wait at least 24 hours.
