Child Tooth Abscess?
Answer:
My daughter had similar problems with caveties and abcesses in her baby teeth. The dentist will probably pull the tooth and prescribe antibiotics for the abcess. Don't worry too much about not being able to get in until tomorrow, although your son will be uncomfortable (which I know is hard on everyone) he won't come to any harm from the wait. Give him Tylenol and warm compresses in the meantime. Good luck.
they can remove the abscess and let it drain. i am surprised they did not want to fix the cracked tooth before now.
hi i also have a a boy whos almost the same age yours mine is 7 he had the same problem last year. i will recomend yoi to check whit your dentist becuse mine was horrible is been one year and he just have problems two times i change doctor last week and she explain to me that they have to give him antibatiotics for 10 days and pain reliver after that they are gonna clean the root of the thoth and if that work thats it but if the infeccion came back the have to pull it out
For a start you cant fix a crack in a tooth you just have to wait it out! (depending on the crack). and also you cant remove an abcess! The dentist will either:
1-give u anti-biotics to take away the infection as this is the source of the pain
2 - take out the tooth if your son will let him
3 - put a sedative dressing in.
If your son will not sit for his tooth out he may need a general anaesthetic to get it out as its a baby tooth i would get it out sooner rather than later instead of posponing the inevitable :)
