New retainers.?

i got my braces rotten a month ago. and ive been wearing my clear retainer. but i a short time ago had an appointment, and within 4 weeks i have to attain a new one. its not clear though. it have a metal bar that go in the front of your teeth. does it hurt? will i catch used to it? how long do i have to wear it?

i have a retainer like that surrounded by 7th grade, it doesn't hurt one bit and isn't really adjectives that noticeable. the simply thing that sucks give or take a few it is taking it out infront off culture to eat and loosing it because you wrap it up within a napkin so others wont see it and you forget about it and toss the napkin. i be suposed to have mine on for 3 years. i lost or broke so abundant my mom stopped buying them after 1 year so now my bottom teeth are moving put a bet on. so just listen to your dentist when he say how long you have to hold it and i sugest leaving it contained by the lil container they give you when your intake so u dont have to step dumpster diveing for it later.
It depends some enjoy a key next to them and you tighten the retainer from the back teeth.You will hold to wear them until your treatment is complete.I would say 6-9 months.
