Yup, sounds like a tooth. My kids' teeth other showed themselves from the top of the gum - like for a time white line.
And my oldest be just in the order of 4 mos. when she cut her first tooth. Everyone told me I was nuts - she couldn't be getting teeth that hasty!
Well I can't see your baby's mouth so I am assuming you are talking more or less the tooth breaking through the top edge of thier gums which is where on earth they should break through. If the tooth is coming in bringing up the rear the edge or infront of the top slither that is when I would be slightly concerned. My best direction is to take him too a denist if you are really still unsure, or simply ask another mom who might be capable of actually look at the tooth.
