Question give or take a few recovering oral surgery?

On Friday(July 13) around 11:30 AM I had a abcess drained and a tooth pulled...it is on my lower right cheek and it is kind of contained by the middle where they pulled it. My right cheek is still for a time swollen but nothing compared to what it be before the draining. I also notice right next to where on earth the tooth was pulled it looks similar to there is this white string glueded to my gums or the inside of my cheeks...What contained by the heck is that about? I also want to know when am I secure to smoke a cig again the letter they sent home beside me said 48 hours...but I am still really scared in the region of getting a dry socket...Any help would be great...I be also wanting to know if I was to budge and hang out next to friends tonight would that kill the recovering procress of everything..So to roughly sum my question up when can I live my nomral existence again...and how can I tell when I am and if I catch a dry socket or about to achieve one...thanks!

Answer:
As long as you keep on the allotted time before you smoke, consequently you'll be fine. The main concern next to smoking when you've just have a tooth removed is due to the fact that the chemicals surrounded by the cig smoke will basically inhibit the clotting/healing process. So long as you hang around the proper amount of time though, you'll be fine. If you are still paranoid about it though, only just pack that side of your mouth with profusely of gauze, which will effectively act as another filter. I've done this previously, and have never have a problem.

I'm not quite sure what the "white string" bit is, though.

Edit: Yes, when I have my last suitability tooth out, this past March, it be still bleeding sporadically for two days after the procedure (it wasn't a Huge amount of bleeding, but it was specifically there). On some of the nastier procedures I've undergone (where they've taken out a good bit of bone, along beside the tooth), it's bled for up to five days later.
Oh - I don't know what color stitches you have, but mine were black. Maybe your dentist uses white? ;o)
The string you saw might be one of the stitches.
For heaven's sake, can't you stay contained by and take keeping of yourself one more hours of darkness?
And no to the cigarette. Listen to what they told you.
I had dry sockets when I have both of my lower wisdoms pulled. Didn't know it until I went to see the dentist. A dry socket is where on earth you don't have a scab. That's it. Hanging out next to friends shouldn't do anything to your wounds. Sucking a cigarette will pull the scab out. The string is probably a bit of gauze that will work itself out when the would heal. Dry sockets can be helped near Advil and clove oil. Clove grease will numb the area and Avil will facilitate with swelling.
Be more worried in the region of the meds you are one and the complications of mixing drugs with them if you do jump out. Otherwise, have fun!
My sister is going through this right immediately, it's been roughly four or five days and she still can't eat like mad of solid foods without affliction . However she had more work than you done, so it probably won't be as unpromising for you. She had the chance string things too, thinks they be stitches or something. As for the cig question, no opinion, but if the dentist told you two days you'll probably be fine with that, conceivably wait an extra year if you're worried. Oh, and if your recovery is anything resembling hers you should be fine to go swing out with friends after the first daylight, and probably nothing too strenous on the second.
