6 hours ago i had two teeth pulled?

my wisdom and the one right in front of it.i was wondering how long will it bleed? can i eat and drink well it is bleeding? if so do i do it with the gauzes in or out? and how do i ever sleep? and any extra info would be Great!! Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!

Answer:
You should not have the gauze in your mouth any more. only for the first 2 hours after having the tooth removed. this can make the extraction site continue to bleed. If after about 30 mins. after removing the gauze it is still bleeding, take a black tea bag and bite on it for a few minutes, this will clot the blood. If you eat or drink while bleeding it may cause an upset stomach. Sleep w/ your head propped up, it will help w/ the swelling.
i got mine removed a few days ago... so i know how you feel. yes you can eat, eat mashed potatoes or applesauce or something easy. take the gauze out before you eat, and replace it with fresh gauze after. ice packs help a lot with the swelling. if they gave you pain med, make sure you eat plently, or you will end up throwing up... if it is too strong and you end up throwing up anyway, try motrin... take like 3 or 4 pills, it'll make it feel lots better. drink lots of liquids. take vitamin c, vitamin e, ecinachea, and whatever anti-biotic they gave you, it'll really help. =] good luck.

oh, and it'll prolly bleed for a day or two... but not too heavily. dont suck on anything!! especially straws!! lots of sleep.
In most cases, the recovery period lasts only a few days. Take painkillers as prescribed by your dentist or oral surgeon. The following tips will help speed your recovery.

* Bite gently on the gauze pad periodically, and change pads as they become soaked with blood. Call your dentist or oral surgeon if you still have bleeding 24 hours after your surgery.
* While your mouth is numb, be careful not to bite the inside of your cheek or lip, or your tongue.
* Do not lie flat. This may prolong bleeding. Prop up your head with pillows.
* Try using an ice pack on the outside of your cheek for the first 24 hours. You can use moist heat—such as a washcloth soaked in warm water and wrung out—for the following 2 or 3 days.
* Relax after surgery. Physical activity may increase bleeding.
* Eat soft foods, such as gelatin, pudding, or a thin soup. Gradually add solid foods to your diet as healing progresses.
* Do not use a straw for the first few days. Sucking on a straw can loosen the blood clot and delay healing.
* After the first day, gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water several times a day to reduce swelling and relieve pain.
* Do not smoke for at least 24 hours after your surgery. The sucking motion can loosen the clot and delay healing. In addition, smoking decreases the blood supply and can bring germs and contaminants to the surgery area.
* Avoid rubbing the area with your tongue or touching it with your fingers.
* Continue to brush your teeth and tongue carefully.

Your dentist will remove the stitches after a few days, if needed.
hope this helps!!

This is funny because I had my right wisdom tooth and molar right next to it on the top pulled on Thursday and I was having the same questions , but now I have some answers , so here I go , Mine only bled for about 6 hours and I drank some water but just a little bit , I got my pulled at like 5:30 p.m. and I didn't eat anything til around lunch time the next day and then I only ate Mashed Potatoes and yogurt. DON'T DRINK ANY SODA AND DON'T SMOKE. because that will cause a dry socket. Oh and I slept just fine regular. But it has been 4 days now and I still am only eating soups and soft stuff because I don't wanna bother the holes...anyways I hope this helps.. let me know..
