What to do about wisdom tooth pain ?
Thanx
Answer:
When this happened to me, My dentist gave me some choices to use up until my appointment:
~ instead of taking large amounts of medicine, try taking 300mg of motrin every 4 hours continuously until you get them removed. That's what my dentist had me do.
~Also, as nasty as it taste, swish around a shot of Whisky to numb it, this really does work.
~If neither of these work, call the dentist and see if he can prescribe you pain killers up until you can get them taken out
I know the pain is awful. I've felt it and I know it sucks....Sorry
I haven't experienced this but after working in a dental office for 2 years I can tell you that wisdom teeth can be removed even if they're impacted. If you are in this much pain perhaps you should look into that. I would at least make an appointment with your dentist, and if he says they aren't ready to extract, he should at least be able to give you some tips for relief. Good luck!
Wait for a few days, or visit a dentist
Sorry but there is little you can do other than bear the discomfort. Try chewing ice, both the cold and the pressure, if you can stand it, may help.
Have you seen a dentist? If they are impacted they should come out. I have had all of mine out. The procedure went well. There was moderate discomfort later and the result was well worth it.
If you are sure it is the wisdom tooth causing the pain, it has to be extracted, though it's impacted, it can be done
Like what Weirdie said, go get it removed before it fully erupts but only do so when your pain subsides. If not, if you remove it while you're having gum-inflammation, there will be more pain. The most immediate pain-relief is to use cold-compress to numb the affected area by place an ice-pack on your cheek. Try getting hold of this pain-killer called diclofenic sodium at your local drugstore. It's strong enough to stop the pain. Gargle with a glass of salt-water (salt has anticeptic property) periodically. On the nights that you can't sleep, diffuse 3 drops of Roman Chamomile essential oil in a diffuser in your bedroom to soothe any tension you may experience. Suck an ice-cube for even more instant relief. Fix an appointment to see the dentist as soon as possible.
