Do Braces hurt?
Answer:
Mostly when you first get them on, but yes. Make sure you have plenty of advil, ice cream, and movie to watch.. Also make sure that you get wax from your orthodontist so they don't bother your mouth. They don't hurt too much when they're putting them on, just afterwards. Your mouth will be sore for 4 to 5 days after it, but from there on it'll only hurt whenever you get them tightened.
Yep. Every time you get them tightened they hurt for a couple days. Take tylenol and you can get through it.
This goes on for 1.5 - 2 years ~ but it is worth it.
And alway wear your retainer otherwise your teeth will go back to where they originally were. Start all over again !
they can, but mine didn't hurt much. usually they will only hurt for a couple days after they're tightened, but not much
Getting them on no
after wards it hurts due to the rubbing of the metal on your gums.
your ortho can provide you with wax to put over the braces until your mouth gets used to them.
Before you go, I would take a Tylenol/Motrin/Advil to ease any pain you may have ( I dint know how sensitive your mouth is)
When you get them tight end it will hurt for a day or 2 after.
Treat yourself to a milkshake after wards!
yes my grand daughter is going threw it yes get pain reliever and abmbesole ready good luck
AFTER ABOUT 3 HOUrs of getting them on, its like hell! stays like that for about a week
Braces do not hurt when they are put on. They feel a bit funny when they are officially on, but that is just because you are not used to the metal in your mouth, haha. They do get very sore. It took me a few weeks to eat normal food, because it hurt so much, I felt my diet consisted of apple sauce and water. So, they do take some getting used to. After you can start eating normal foods, you can barely feel them! You might need to get new wires put in a few times, at least I do. The cycle just starts all over again. But, trust me. Don't be scared. It'll all be great in the long run! Smile!
when they are getting put on, you dont feel a single thing. but once they start tightening them, they start to hurt, b/c they are pulling your teeth together. but no worries, before you know it, they'lll be off. i had mine for 5 years. the best part is the retainer.
while they're putting them on some things can be uncomfortable but not neccasarily hurt. for me when i first had them on they didnt hurt, but an hour or two later they hurt like hell. so.. have some really good pain medications ready for ya. and your gonna have to eat something soft such as mashed potatos or rice or maybe really small cut up pieces of meat. but after like a week or something they stopped hurtin sometimes a tooth or two hurts once in a while but after a month you'l start forgetting you have them :D
YES. think about it very carefully before put them on. consult various dentists because some wanted only money not necessarily the good and perfect teeth.
Yea, braces do hurt. They don't hurt too bad when they are putting them on, but they will hurt periodically after they are on. Most of the time, your teeth will hurt for a few days after you have gone to the orthadontist and gotten them tightened each month (or whenever you go). But I don't think you should have continual pain.
My brother has braces, (I did too) and for the majority of the time, he doesn't have much pain.
Anyway, trust me, braces are worth it! You will have a beautiful smile for a lifetime when you get them off!
Ow, they really hurt getting put on. But then you get used to it after a couple of weeks.
yah but u get used to it. if u have to have rubber bands on those hurt really bad too. lots of advil. good luck.
I had braces for 6 years.
It SUCKED.
They didn't hurt all the time, but sometimes I cut my lips up on them.
Your teeth are really sore when you get them tightened.
As for putting them on, it doesn't hurt initially, at least in my experience. It just feels really weird. Same with getting them off.
I felt like my teeth were so smooth.
not when you get them put on but after you leave the dentist it starts to hurt. It even makes your teeth feel loose
Braces hurt after a few hours later when you get them on. you really dont feel anything uncomfortable when youre getting them on
A little. When they put them on its uncomfortable and for a few days and everytime they mess with them. But after a while you get use to them.
