I have to go to the orthodontist tomorrow and...?

at the previous visit, they poured a bunch of glue on my top back teeth to keep me from biting down too far and biting my brackets off. Tomorrow, at my next visit, they're going to take it off. Has anyone gotten this before? How do they take it off? Does it hurt?

Answer:
it doesnt hurt at all. what it is called is composite. they arent going to drill your teeth or anything like that, they are just going to remove the glue with a handpiece and will stop before they touch your teeth. usually patients are happy to get it off because they can bite down on their own teeth and dont have weird stuff on the back. =]
What are you going to do about it anyways? it doesnt hurt that bad to get glue removed. It will hurt a little (not much at all), but then the next day your gums will probably be swollen a little. Dont worry about it, they will say something about it too.
For starters, I would ask kindly for local numbing just to be safe if you feel it would hurt. After all, it is your mouth. If you trust your orthodontist to know what he/she is doing, then by all means brace yourself and hang on tight or relax and rest assured they wouldn't harm you for the world.
