I not long get my braces and am following a catalogue of what i can get through and what not to devour... HELP!?

ok.. i got braces and i'm not sure if the following things can be eat:

* oranges- i'm not sure because I can't eat sharp food like lemons and sour fruit.

*kiwi fruit- same as above.

*candy & sugar- this is a myth because my friends drink lollies with braces and nought much happens. they right to be heard it's because of tooth decay (bad!).


i'll donate more details when i remember what else I have thought of! thankfulness.

Raw vegetables & fruits, cut them up, steam or stir-fry

Bit-O-Honeys, Look, Mike & Ike's, Sugar Babies
Skittles
Milk Duds etc.
Sticky, sugar gum, sugarless gum is allowed, but not next to biteplanes or seperators.
Be careful beside these foods:
Carrots - grate or cut into tiny pieces
Apples - cut into squares - don't bite
Hard French bread and bagels - tear into small pieces
Limit foods near a high sugar content
The acids produced by lofty sugar content foods can attack for twenty minutes or more each time you munch through. So, the best time to eat carbohydrates or other sugary foods is during a breakfast time. The mouth produces more saliva during a meal which, within turn, helps to neutralize bitter production and rinse food from the mouth. If possible, brush immediately after intake. If it is not possible to do so, rinsing beside clear water will relieve.
I would imagine that sharp might eat the cement?
Sticky stuff, like lollies is impossible, I never had a cavity untill I get braces!! So just be sure you brush alot.
I'm pretty sure you can drink sour foods. I dont eat that much of them but i do know is try not to put away to much candy specially lollipops or hard candy for that business. I once ate a hard mint candy and one of my brackets fell bad. So do brush a lot because if you don't you'll sure money for it later. But bar that be carefule of what you eat =]
i have braces and ate anything i was merely careful near harder food that could get contained by the way of my braces when i chewed...i ate adjectives of the above foods ..i never heard that you cant put away acidic food
Stay away from Babe Ruth candy bar. And Cheetos. I've had incidents next to those.
