Why do some dentists not offer to pay in installments for treatment?

I have to have 3 large fillings done in a weeks time (my mouth is full of mercury fillings!) and I want to have these white - eventually change them all to white ones. My dentist doesnt offer to pay in installments - its going to cost me £190 for white fillings and £45 for mercury (I just don't want anymore mercury in my mouth!!). We are not covered on my husbands company medical insurance either, only for oral surgery. Can anyone recommend what I should do? Thanks

Answer:
if i was you i would use the good old plastic, then that way you can pay it off over time and not worry about all your money going at once. OK, so you'll accumulate a little bit of interest but at least you'll still have money!
Use a credit card, and pay it off over time.
Get a new dentist. The reason they don't do instalments is that you can keep changing dentist and never pay anyone!
Cant you find a dentist that will take installments .
Or you will have to pay by credit card or get a bank loan another option is your over draft Do which ever will be cheaper for you in the long run
The reason some dentist don't offer to pay in installments is that they have been stiffed too many times. I can't count how many times a patient says they will pay a little each month after the treatment has been done and then you never hear from them again. I'm not saying that you are not going to pay but the sins of the previous non-payers is being passed onto you.
Here at my office we accept something called Care Credit, it's like a dental credit card. Look into that and see if you can get approved for the amount you need.

Our office doesn't take installments because it is to hard to get people to pay. So the office is the one getting screwed out of the money they deserve and the patient is getting free service. The doctors I work for did not go to school for 8 years to not get paid for they expertise.

Hi. I would get a supplement dental health plan. The one I have is only $19.95 a month per family and $11.95 per person. It is a dental discounted health plan , They cover up to %80 and you are covered right away, YOu just have to let the plan know that you need this done and ask them what you need to do. There is no waiting period dont matter about pre-
existing conditions. They are really great coverage, w/ the dental plan they cover chiropractic and perscription to. You can check to see if it is offered in your area.. Just go to my profile and check on the link. This will also help you not to use so much on your health insurance too. You can use it in tandom with that too. If you need any help please dont hesitate to write me . I will get back with you as soon as possible . Hope this helps Have a great day.
