How long should I expect to miss work for #2 tooth extraction?

I am having a decayed tooth removed (#2 - upper right, all the way in the back). I'm having local anesthetic. Provided there is no complications and it's a simple extraction, how long should I be off work? I sit at a desk all day doing accounting work. My appt is 11:15am and I would like to come back to work the next day. Does this seem reasonable?

Answer:
You could probably return to work the next day. All-in-all it depends on how you feel. Obviously if you wake up the next morning feeling like total crap then rest would be the best thing for you, but if you wake up with a minor ache or pain you should be able to return to work. The only thing that may prevent that is if the dentist gives you a pain killer to take at home that makes you drowsy. Good Luck.
The next day should be fine. No longer than the day after I would say.
If the tooth was pulled today, be back at work tomorrow. This out pateint, minor surgery.
I wouldn't see why not.I think if you are feeling up to it and you are not in major pain.I would play it by ear and let your Bose know what is going on if you would happen to mix work the next day. Good Luck and Hope all goes well.
totally. i had 4 teeth out at once with a local anesthetic, and i had no pain at all, the dentist told me to take 2 tylenols before hand (ask your dentist if you should) and then i was good for the rest of the day. my only issue was that i stayed frozen for about 5 hrs after the fact and i drooled a ton. but the next day i was fine. just be careful with what you eat, and try not ot get food in the space
You should be just fine to report back to work the next day.. you may be a little sore, but Tylenol will help.

Pay careful attention to and follow the post-op instructions your given and you'll be back to 'normal' in no time... and healed, too!

Good luck!
