Wisdom teeth!?
Answer:
sue the dentist lol
Infection maybe.
Your not on antibiotics? You probably should be.
My mother had that bigger than chipmunk reaction, and fainted outside the dentist office and was taken in an ambulance to the hospital.
Apparently, the dentist had injected way too much of a particular something, into her gums.
Surprise, surprise!! My mother was allergic to that kind of antibiotic/painkiller or whatever it was. Her face was swollen for a month.
She tried to sue the dentist, but her ex accidentally destroyed the photos.
Go to the doctor and find out what happened.
p.s.
My sister loves her wisdom teeth. At first they came in crooked, but she chewed a lot of carrots and coconut back there and now she has beautiful jaws and powerful teeth..
Go back to your dentist! It sounds like a tiny bit of food has become trapped in the holes where your wisdom teeth used to be. The infection is probably what caused the fever. It happened to me, I thought I was being extra careful, but it turned out that all sorts of little bits of things were stuck in there! To help with the pain, the dentist will pack a disinfectant into the holes in your gums (your mouth will taste of ginger for a few weeks!) and give you a small plastic syringe and show you how to clean your gums out yourself by flushing them with water. This needs to be done every day, no matter how gross it may be, in order to ensure that you do not get another infection.
Also, the gums peeling back bit will eventually go away...it took me weeks to get used to it! But now my gums have healed nicely. Just remember to be patient, some people recover much more slowly than others from this sort of surgery.
You can use RED CROSS FIRST AID liquid on a cottonball and put it in the craters. I had dry socket from their removal and the pain was nasty. This first aid med has cloves in it and really helps. Okay it with the Doctor of course.
