Are Eyes/ Eye Socket area affected with oral surgery?

That may seem like a strange question. But I am curious. If I were to have upper jaw advancement and lower jaw retraction surgery, would it affect my eyes?

Answer:
Lower jaw surgery should not affect your eyes..

Upper jaw orthognathic surgery such as Lefort I Osteotomies should not affect the eyes or the eye sockets, but since the lower part of the orbit (the eye socket) is a part of the maxilla, sometimes (very rarely however) complications involving the eye socket may occur. Oral surgeons are very familiar with the anatomy of the area however, and usually there is little/no impact.

Great question. You definitely should ask your oral surgeon to elaborate.
No, it shouldn't.
