I want to be a dentist one day?
Answer:
The academics are not all that difficult. If you don't procrastinate and have good studying habits, the material covered in dental school is not particularly difficult to learn.
The graduation rate for U.S. dental schools is in the high 90% range (i.e. those who successfully pass the National Dental Board Examinations and earn their DDS/DMD degree), and that says a lot about the level of difficulty of the material.
You do need to be good with your hands though. Dentistry is definitely not for those who do not have good hand-eye coordination or don't like working on small objects.
Hope this helps.
well, if you want to be a dentist for one day, I certainly would be scared to be your patient for one day. lol!!
To become a dentist you need to study hard in the sciences the most. In order to get into dentistry school you will need good grades and understanding of biology, chemistry, organic chemistry etc... Also they like to see practice in things like pottery and the arts.
Don't worry too much about it for now and just make sure to study hard in your science classes.
if you really want to become a dentist, it is very important that you study very well. in dentistry there's the theoretical and the practical areas for you to learn, understand, and do what dentists do.
here in the philippines, it took me 6 years to finish the course. 2 years for pre-dental (associate in arts) and 4 years for dentistry proper. during the 4 years we learned and did everything--from diagnosis to treatment. you will encounter specific areas of study like restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, community dentistry, etc.
then, you need to take the licensure exams for dentists/dental board exams, pass it and take your oath before practicing or putting up a dental clinic.
it is really interesting to know that you want to become a dentist...the level of difficulty will depend on how eager you want to become what you want to be...good luck!
well if you are patient enough and you think youre good in science and you got money to spend to dental materials why not.but im telling you its not cheap.
Well, there is hope.cause it's usually easier to get into dental school than medical school, veterinary school or even pharmacy school. And if you still can't get in, try chiropractic school. We need more of those quacks!
