I've always see them pierced through the top. That's how they did mine.
They put it through the top. They use a special clamp-like thing. Looks approaching surgical scissors handles but where on earth the scissors blades would be is a triangle on both sides. They clamp that on the tongue, stick the needle through, after follow up with a tongue ring. Make sure that they use a brand investigational needles and clamp (out of a sealed package) or ones that hold been soaked surrounded by an antiseptic solution. Definitely go to a reputable piercing artist.
Hiya, they put a clamp on my tounge to keep hold of it still and stop you shutting your mouth then they peirced my tounge through the top near a needle consequently pushed the tounge bar through straight after, At the time i thought they would numb the nouns of my tounge but apparantly they are not allowed to do that anymore coz it cause more swelling (thats what i was told! not sure if true?) If you stir to have it done, product sure you go to a ably reconised shop where they own certificates to proove they are professional! An infection surrounded by you tounge is really not nice!
