Braces elastics-why 4?

My orthodontist wasn't clear with whether i have to wear 4 for only the first day or for everyday. everyone else wears only 2 elastics. is 4 normal?

it depends on whats going on with your teeth. if he showed you 4 and told you certain brackets to put them on then im sure that youre supposed to wear them like that everyday. i hated the rubber bands. he kept giving me smaller and smaller ones everytime i went in they were a little painful. good luck with them!
