How can we get rid of plaque?
Answer:
Brush and floss of course, but I will tell you something. Since doing low carb I have found I very little plaque. Plaque seems to come from high carbs such as bread and sugars. So if you want to get rid of plaque then adopt a different diet.
Benefits of a low carb diet is improved dental hygiene (less dental plaque; improved gum health) among many others
Brush & floss. There is also a rinse you can use. Go see the dentist.
brush vigorously and after meals, floss, swish with mouthwash, and change your toothbrush often.
Brush your teeth. Duh.
paying a visit to the dentist would be the most effective way of removing plaque.
after that, brush (after every meal, if you're up for it), floss once a day (at least) and use a mouth rinse, like Listerine.
I have a lot of plaque.
My mom tells me that all the time, especially since she is a dentist.
Anyway, you must
1) Floss throughly (takes around 3 minutes for a thorugh job)
2) Brush (2 minutes thoroughly)
3) Garggle Fluoride (1 minute- there is a brand called ACT sold in Kmart, and any grocery store/drugstore/walmart it's vast!)
Plaque is a natural result of bacteria formed from the food particles left in our mouth and between our teeth after we eat. In order to prevent this bacteria from forming plaque, you therefore need to remove these food particles daily by brushing and flossing. Using an antiseptic rinse such as Listerine may also be beneficial. Some people brush everytime after they eat, but brushing and flossing once a day should be sufficient. Plaque usually starts forming in 24 hours.
