Question about new braces?
I figure its ok but...
I was wondering, is it ok if I eat lunch at about 12:00 or so and then brush my teeth right when I get home from school at about 3:00?

You don't absolutley have to brush them after every single thing you eat. I have braces right now, and i have for 10 months so far. I brush mine in the morning and at night. And if you have time during the day, and your teeth feel icky, go brush them, otherwise don't worry about it. Trust me, you'll figure out when you need to brush them and when you don't. Braces after a while are not noticable, ever. So don't worry about it!

You're supposed to go into the bathroom and brush your teeth after you eat.
Quite a few of my friends still had braces during high school and they all went into the bathroom to brush their teeth after lunch.
Then there was a freshman in there without braces just brushing her teeth.

I never brushed my teeth after every meal
And I had braces for two years
No one told me to brush my teeth after lunch, but I had a friend who would always go brush her teeth after lunch who went to the same ortho as me.
Of course, I never had food stuck in my braces like some people.
If you're a messy eater and find foot stuck in your braces, at least go into the bathroom and pick that out if you're not going to brush your teeth.
Yes it's ok.. I know how you feel. the first day, evern week you're very cautious. But you'll see once you get use to them that it's no big dea!

That should be fine ... but be careful what you eat! You don't want to walk around for three hours with broccoli hanging from your teeth!
I have braces, and my teeth are very healthy. Braces aren't that big of a deal. You'll get use to them in no time. Don't worry. 3:00 will be fine. Good Luck!
I, too had braces myself and it was perfectly fine not brushing your teeth after lunch. Just be sure you don't have major food particles in your teeth which can be quite embarrassing.
Yeah, you should be okay, so don't freak about it, just as long as you get them brushed, so that the sugar and stuff dosen't stay on your teeth, and cause cavitys.
It is relatively important to clean after every meal. I do, I'm 9 weeks into my brace treatment. I do have friends though, they simply stayed brushing their teeth twice a day while ahving braces, had no trouble with the braces coming off.
Personally, if it was me I would say that was fine. I know some will disagree on here, but I do that and my ortho has had no complaints about my oral hygiene. My ortho has also suggested that if I am out and about and cannot brush my teeth for a while, rinse my mouth with water just to dislodge any stuck food. Brush as soon as I get home.
