My daughter knocked a tooth out, now she has a bubble forming above the tooth next to the one she lost. Why?

My 3 yr. old daughter jumped out of her tree house and lost a tooth. I took her to see a dentist who told me to watch for any bubbles forming above the tooth next to the one she lost which had been knocked loose. This was a month ago and now she has a bubble on her gum above the loose tooth. What can I expect when I take her to the dentist? I'd like to prepare myself.

Answer:
Permanent central incisors come in about 6 yrs of age, so the bubble that is forming is not the permanent tooth coming through, more than likely, due to the trauma, the baby tooth has either abscessed or fractured under the gum. If your dentist thinks the tooth is salvageable he can perform a pulpotomy on it or they can extract the tooth. A pulpotomy is similar to a root canal but not as extensive and may retain the tooth longer if crowding of the permanent teeth is an issue. If the tooth is fractured the tooth has to go. Sounds like your daughter can handle it though, she has no fear! :o)
mayb an abcess
She probably has air in her gums from the blowout in the treehouse. You should take her to the dentist pretty soon before it gets worse.
idk im sorry never happened to me before but im sure she'll be ok. if worst came to worst they may need to operate to take the bubble out but she'll be fine!
maybe the milk teeth that she lose will become permanent .why the gums have bubbles?my answer: because maybe the permanent teeth will be lose too. am i right?
When she hit she also hit this tooth and it was enough trauma to kill the nerve in that tooth. Sometimes trauma like this causes infection when the nerve dies. The will need to give her an antibiotic and depending on your dentist he may decide to take the tooth out to prevent any more infections or he may want to watch the tooth after the antibiotics 1st to see if this will keep this tooth calm for a while to prevent taking the tooth out.
Since he advised you to look for another possible bubble, I would think she might lose that tooth as well.
It probably has something to do with the nerves. Baby teeths' purpose is to provide as spacers and that is very important! To give the permenant teeth time to come in.
Did he do exays? To find out anything that he can't see below the gum line.
He needs to inform you of everything.
And you need to ask him/her a lot of questions as to how this will effect her permenant teeth and the other baby teeth. Will the other teeth move over into the space where there is no tooth? Will the effect how straight her teeth will be later? How will it effect her bite or will it?
