I have complete upper and lower plates that make my mouth sore. Any advice ?

I had all my teeth pulled eight years ago, and my lowers still make my gums very sore. I have to use adhesive, but my lowers still rock. I have had them remade twice. My lower jaw bone is deteriorating, and my dentist says this may be the cause. My wife has dentures, and has never used adhesive.

Answer:
This is the problem w/ dentures and bone loss. It is based on having a ridge of bone if you don't have a ridge the dentures aren't going to fit. This is one reason for the new mini implants. They put a few miniature implants in you gums/bone and make an attachment for these implants in your dentures. The dentures are held in place by these mini implants. They can use you existing dentures but the implants would probably run $1000 upper and $1000 lower depending on location. The sooner you check on this the better b/c if you don't have enough bone left they might not be able to still do this, but w/ bone grafts now they can sometimes graft bone into place so they can do it.
go to another dentist and see what he says . he may be abale to fix your linning in them . and if not he well tell you . i am having to go to a nother dentist to fix mine . mine don,t fit and are rocking to .may be he can put more linning in them .ask him a bout this .
