What pain medicine can I take with Vicodin? I got my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday and it isnt helping.?

vicoden already has tylenol in it. and the main narcotic is Hydrocodone. percocet is oxycodone and tylenol and oxycodone is stronger than hydrocodone. you can also get percocet without the tylenol, or oxycontin which is just oxycodone in a time released form. but you don't need something as strong as oxycontin unless you got the 10mg ones.
If I was you I would ask your dr,. for percocet, instead of vicoden.
call your dentist and tell him he can give you a stronger scrip.
i feel you should tell your dentist that your pain level for that dosage of vicodin is not working,asap or maybe you can ask your pharmacist,vicodin is a very potent pain med.and it can be addictive,so maybe that 's why he gave you the dosage he did,but please check, i have had it for after dental surgery years ago,the whole tablet had me out,then i decided to ask my dentist if i could just take 1/2 of the tablet.i hope you get better.
Depending on what dosage your dentist prescribed (I'll assume 5/500mg) you can take 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hrs as needed. Along with that, you can also take motrin (Ibuprofen). I would not recommend taking these at the same time, but rather stagger the two medications, for example take one vicodin at X time, then 3 hours later take 400-600mg of motrin, so on, so forth. Do not take more than 3200mg of motrin in one day.
to kc if vicodin will not stop the pain go direct ,do not pass go,go to your dentist , do not mix pain pills it could be dangers.
