Does your 3yr old have cavities??What will the dentist do for a toddler with a cavity?
Answer:
For a toddler with cavities, a dentist will do fillings. Prior to that, however, he/she may have the child take a prescribe medication to relax the child, and/or give the toddler "laughing gas" before getting a shot to numb the area. I'd recommend seeing a pediatric dentist as they are trained to work with young children. Before the appointment to have the fillings done, go to a consult appointment with the dentist so that you can ask any questions and learn more about the upcoming procedure and how to prepare your child for it.
Mine doesn't, nope. And the dentist will fill it, just like an adult cavity, so your child likely have to get the numbing shot as well. If you don't get the cavity filled, the child will eventually need a root canal.
Going forward, be SURE to brush his/her teeth every morning and night, and go easy on the sweets (this includes fruit juice - keep juice to a minimum, and dilute it so that it's one part juice, one part water).
