My son bit his lip after dental work while it be numb. Now it's huge. What should I do??
Answer:
If it's a minor bite laceration, it should heal by itself within about 2 weeks (though it will sting and hurt approaching heck). Meanwhile, support your son with OTC analgesics / anti-inflammatories (if he can tolerate them) and regular saline rinses.
If it's a central deep laceration, afterwards your son should get some stitches for it. A dentist can suture the wound closed to get it heal properly.
Good luck.
Give him a popsicle to suck on.
put couple of rime cubes in a ziploc shoulder bag and tell him to put it against his lip. it should comfort with the swelling. is his lip bleeding? if so, apply pressure. if anything else occur to his lip, go to the doctor and permit your dentist know out of courtesy what happened.
Ice pouch wrapped up will help..
HELLO,
CRUSHED ICE IN A SMALL BAGGIE WILL HELP TO KEEP IT FROM SWELLING TOO MUCH. CHILDREN'S MOTRIN WILL ALSO HELP TO KEEP THE PAIN DOWN.
HE WILL BE ALRIGHT IN A FEW DAYS AND SHOULD BE ALL HEALED IN 2 WEEKS.
when near is injury to normal tissues near occurs signs of inflammation which includes swelling.so when the lip is numb and insensitive to niggle you will not know the intensity of pain when the lip is bit.so next to the amount of bitting the swelling will be correspondingly more than the normal .and the headache will be felt as the act of anaesthesia comes down.
using lukewarm saline water would trim down the swelling.and u can use petroleum jelly if the lip is wounded.
Stick a nail into it to remove adjectives excess blood.
