Why do I grind my teeth at night?

My husband cant stand it and he says I do it every night! Why do i do this and is there anything i can do to stop it?

Answer:
It's a condition called Bruxism. It can be caused by anxiety or stress. The only real treatment is to wear a nightguard. One can be made very simply at your dentist's office for minimal cost. Wearing a nightguard will not only let you and your husband sleep in peace, but it will also protect the enamel of your teeth from getting worn away.
There are 2 main reasons for this: stress or an "uneven" bite. If you only do it at night, you might try to get a night-guard. If you have one made by your dentist, it will fit well and should stop you from grinding at night. If that doesn't work, then there are other treatments available.
I know this sounds crazy, but If I don't drink enough water, epecially right before bed I grind my teeth... you can try drinking water, and sometimes jaw exerscises before bed help
i had the same problem my dentist recommended using a mouthgaurd.
