When making an appt, what does two units means?

In orthodontic treatment. (braces).

Answer:
Dental offices divide up time in blocks. Each office has their own deffinition of one "unit", but mostly it means 10 mins. That way, if the doctor tells the appointment desk he/she needs "6 units", the scheduler will know to reserve one hour of the doctor's time.

These could also be 5, 15, or 30 minute segments, depending on the office.
