It's a cavity. I had one one time. They in recent times drill it out and fill it pay for in next to plaster stuff. It doesn't hurt, they put you to sleep until they're finished with something call "happy gas". It make you feel close to you're floating. It's so cool! =D
Yes, i would go to the dentist beforehand it starts hurting and can get really desperate.
