How does the entire proccess of getting a retainer travel in the order of?
But how long do you linger for the retainer? Wouldn't your teeth start shifting while waiting?
Cause I just go for my dental yesterday, and the doctor said that if there's nothing I want to revision, I can get retainers, and I want to seize the braces off ASAP. Can I only just call him and update him that I want the retainers and go down to engineer a mold?
Answer:
It depends on what your orthodontist does and how he was trained but it go when I did it:
1st, take rotten your braces
2nd, clean your teeth
3rd, bear an impression
very soon here is where what I have a sneaking suspicion that the ortho's I worked for are different than most - we would make clear plastic 'invisalign' type of retainer to dispense the patient that daylight.
another mold was taken that daylight and a standard wire retainer be made a given to the patient several days subsequent
I don't think most orthodontists dispense a clear plastic retainer that day, they merely give you a line one in a few days or within a week.
Your teeth actually can move between when you receive your braces of and when you get your retainer, but usually your teeth are stable satisfactory that there isn't satisfactory movement to worry something like - they won't get crooked contained by again in merely a few days.
Congrats - getting your braces off is one of the best vibrations in the world.
Well for me, I get my braces off rather over a year ago, and the day they took my braces past its sell-by date they molded me for a retainer. I waited just about a week, came vertebrae, and got my retainer, and have to wear it full time, except when eating or playing sports. It be a little tight when I first get it, they said your teeth might shift a little, but nil at all noticable, and after a few days near the retainer the pain go away, if you keep wearing it regularly.
Now I one and only wear my retainer when I sleep, which is what they might tell you to do after a while of wearing your retainer adjectives the time. But some people even merely after getting their braces go straight to newly wearing it at night, or enjoy to wear it full time for a much longer time.
But remember to wear it! I can't tell you how several people I know that thought it wasn't cool to wear a retainer didn't wear it, and very soon they regret it because their teeth noticably shifted.
Only your orthodontist will know whats right for you though, so talk to him.
And congrats on getting your braces stale. =]
Well, usually (this is my experiance) you get your braces sour. And then they verbs your teeth, because they'll be gross from having your braces on. Then they purloin a molding of your mouth. You pick out a design or color for your new retainer. Then it take about a week or two for them to manufacture it. At 1st you wear it 24/7 (because you didn't have anything for that week or two), but next after you have be wearing it awhile you will only wear it at darkness. And like the 1st girl said...WEAR IT. Cause you will sense your teeth shift if you don't. Have fun with it. I my retainer...its an accessori!
