Why is it that some (maybe most) children cry and are enormously fearful of the dentist's stool??
i'll other remember a dentist saying to me a few years ago when i be 35 "now if anything go wrong you will let me know". when i saw him the subsequent visit i also remember that whlie he be working on my teeth i started to weep within the chair - a opening ran down my frontage. afterwards i noticed that the bottom of a canine tooth have been reshaped. without a doubt what happened be that he had broken the tooth during the work. i told him in the order of this and he said that i must have ground it down during my sleep. what crap!!
so next to that in viewpoint why do kids resist the dentists chair??

The leading reason why children are afraid of the dentist is... their parents and relatives. It's true! Parents will report to their child before his or her first call on that "it's not so bad! He or SHe probably won't even acquire a needle!" or elder siblings will try to scare the child by relating them that "the dentist uses a drill on your teeth and freezes your mouth with a giant plunger that hurts a lot! " or "He's gonna verbs all your teeth out!"
I can't stand it when parents or relatives use words approaching needle, drill or verbs your teeth out. The child is so afriad before he or she even get to the office, thinking that a nozzle is imminant when they are only getting a cleaning.
When a child asks thier mom or dad why he or she is going to the dentist, I want they would just notify them that "you are going to get your teeth brushed" or "they are going to cause your teeth bright and shiny", Avoiding scary words.
If a child is going for a nourishing, never say drill or hypodermic! Their minds automatically register "PAIN!" Tell a child that "your tooth is full of sugar bugs and the dentist is going to use buzz lightyear (the drill, remembering to not say drill!) to zap them away, afterwards he's going to fill the hole the sugar bugs made near a filling to stop the sugar bugs from returing."
A child is single comfortable when he or she is not anxiously awaiting pain or an event that they find alarming. Avoiding scary words or scenerios when discussion to a child about the dentist is the first step to eliminate fear and building confiedence when a child walk into a dental office.
Because mortal in the dentists bench creates a feeling of loss of control.
Some dentists will be angelic at dealing with this and others not.
When taking children to the dentist its considerable to chose a dentist that makes your child surface comfortable and in control. Some agree to the child raise a appendage if they want a break for example. The dentist should explain what is being done to the child (depending on the age of the child, the appropriate words would be used). Also a parent should be present surrounded by the room with the child.
These things are really earth-shattering because if the child does feel raging, they then fire up to feel start, and this fear can stick beside them throughout their lifes, making visiting the dentist a really big business.
I wonder if it's to do with subconscious memory - that somewhere they remember the torment of teething and know that dental pain is really severe?

its importantly unlikely to break a tooth without you individual aware of it and a large percentage of individuals grind their teeth during sleep and the eye(canine)tooth is the tooth that wears down the most.Its unbelievably common.As for kids crying...it happen less and smaller amount

i don't blame kids for feeling approaching crying i do and still do it i hate the dentist, mind you i own had my generous share of visits surrounded by pain. i grind mine surrounded by my sleep and end up cracking a tooth every time.
The clap of the drill...makes them suppose pain is not far away!!

in vivacity if someone hurts me that much the get a punch within the face, all the same in a dentist chairt i sit fund and am powerless, and helpless...and vulnerable... and alarmed... actually frightened... i elected for a general and have 7 molars and wisdom teeth removed... that didnt hurt one bit..
honestly, within my opinion, i construe it is because theyve always see movies or shows of kids getting their teeth drilled and they dont know about the numbing process or such
this also happen cause in attendance are basically no shows where on earth they tell you that zilch happens when you're at the dentist
i dont ruminate you can feel a broken tooth
and conceivably depending on the intensity of the severed tooth then it would hurt

Children hold no conceived idea of anything, they unease nothing specifically why you have to help yourself to care of them and tutor them right from wrong.
Its the same beside swimming, fire etc. its what they are taught that counts. Dentists are one and the same and children are very intuitive and will pick things up from their parents and peers. If they consistency that dentists are bad or they will receive stomach-ache then they will not similar to dentists they will copy you so if you can teach them not to unease but explain both sides of any story they will not pre judge any situation.
probably cuz movies and stories they hear. the first time i went i wasnt that upset at all. i only just kept making sure they wouldnt pull the hypodermic out and i was fine. My little sister be scared cuz her friend told her that she would attain shots in her mouth and catch her teeth pulled.

Children are fearful of the dentist because of the size of that needle he uses to numb up your gums past drilling starts., and because of the pain that the nozzle causes mortal inserted into the tender gums of the child's mouth.
Have you ever noticed that when the dentist comes posterior into the room, he has his appendage behind his backbone, the hand thats holding that long hypodermic? They also seem to enjoy a slight grin on their mugs as well, as if trying to reassure you that 'its going to be alright', a moment ago sit back, relax and break open wide, thats when you be aware of the tip of the needle piercing your gum and both your eyes are rivited to the dentist's foot that is holding the plunger module of the needle, it seem giantic in size and purely seeing this makes me cringe near terror.
It would be better if the dental researchers could develop another method of injecting the novacain into your gums to numb the tissue, I don`t know give you a pill that you could swallow next to a cup of water and within a matter of a few minutes, the entire mouth would step numb, thus saving you the horrors of emotion the needle enter your mouth and sharp your tender gums.

I'm afraid of the dentist because when I be younger(about 16 years ago) the dentist I went to butchered my teeth up pretty angelic, had 2 teeth cap that weren't sealed right and 5 years then the cap falls sour, and I have no tooth near! WTF!
So that made me afraid of them.plus have you ever see the movie 'the dentist' where he runs around slaughter people...I saw that when I be young. The nouns of the drills freaks me out...I don't like needles(and little kids don't either), the reality someone is probing around in your mouth..in that is many reason why kids are afraid of them..these are just some

I empathise so much beside your experiences of dentists. I have have some awful times especially with the college dentist whose reason for living be to inflict pain on children!
I agree that children pick up from their parents which is why I own been so mean with mine. I hold not given them any idea of what happen at the dentist, not discussed it, other than to read aloud that you sit in a funny bench that goes up and down and the dentist checks your teeth are growing ok. Both my children (8 and 11) enjoy no fear of the dentist, and the lone negative mood is one of boredom!
I sit waiting for them quietly hyperventilating, sweating and experiencing palpitations - they lately take their sticker and drag me past its sell-by date for a well earn sugar free snack! Kids!
