It depends on the dentist and if insurance covered any. It also depends on how much work needs to be done on the tooth and if they go and get the restoration right then. I believe that $1600 would include the root conduit and crown.
Since you said that price includes the root canal and crown, yes, $1600 is surely reasonable. I have a root canal done ($800) and a crown ($700), so you're simply $100 more. I know it sounds like abundantly, but that is standard cost minus insurance.
Check to see if any dental colleges in your area/M y wife savea around a third or more and happy next to the students

Depends on your insurance, but if you're paying out of pocket for the entire thing (like, no insurance) that sounds almost right from pain nouns to crown. I paid just about $1000 for the first one I had done going on for three years ago. I paid a couple hundred for the one I have done about two years ago, and I'm waiting for double dental coverage (in August) to bring back the crown. I know I'm living on borrowed time that the crown build-up isn't going to crack, but oh well.

The crown alone would be 800.00-1200.00, depending on type. 800.00 with insurance is plainly within the common range for this procedure. If a dentist is doing a root strait on a back tooth, the crown is vastly necessary. A root strait takes the impudence and blood supply for the tooth out and over time it may become brittle. A back tooth beside a root canal and no crown have a very constrained life span. I have a dentist try and help me out once when I be paying for the whole entry out of pocket. He went ahead and did the root waterway and we were going to put rotten the crown. WRONG! Within a couple of months, I had bit down on something rugged and cracked that tooth in partly. Fortunately, we were still competent to salvage it with a crown. Front teeth don't hold the same chewing stresses that final teeth do so you can often get hold of by for quite a while minus a crown. However, those teeth darken with time and can become comparatively yucky looking in your mouth.
With no insurance, yes. I compensated about 1800 for mine, and thats lone for the surgery+crown. Didn't cover anything else.didnt even get a prescription for dull pain killers =(. I didn't have need of them though. If it's not an 'important' tooth, just grasp it extracted, A LOT cheaper(non-important being a molar contained by the far back...and yes, teeth can be 'non-important' when they cost $253242432 dollars to fix =)
