Incurable diseases like IBS and Crohns and a profit conspiracy ?
So this guy walks into this old country doctors office and says,
Patient: " doctor the antibiotics you gave me for my respiratory infection seems to have cleared up my intestinal problems I have had, ( that I didn't tell you about, because I had gone to see a specialist about this some 15 years ago).
Old Country Doctor: "What were your symptoms ?"
Patient: "intestinal problems...."
Old Country Doctor: " seems like you had giardia" (a bacterial parasite)
Patient: "I went to see the SPECIALIST and he told me I had IBS, a disease of unknown cause and cure."
So the specialist, said one thing, incurable, and the old country doctor said a simple infection, giardia that could be cured and treated.

Is there a conspiracy to make symptoms into incurable diseases ?
Answer:
It is unlikely for there to be an overt "conspiracy", i.e doctors knowing that they are misdiagnosing patients in order to turn greater profits. However, this doesnt stop them from being inept and sloppy. First of all, IBS is supposed to be a diagnosis of exclusion, used when all other explanatory avenues have been exhausted. Instead, it has morphed into a disease entity of its own...symptoms that are consistent with IBS are attributed to it, as if IBS was a causative agent. It should be a diagnosis of last resort, not first resort. Parasites are in fact quite common in the US, and should always be tested for in the presence of mysterious gastrointestinal symptoms. There is no excuse for doctors diagnosing patients with IBS without a thorough investigation, which is often done. However, it is worth inquiring into why medicine is practiced so poorly in this regard.
A really interesting way to explain these things is given by Dr. Leo Galland, who argues that modern medicine is disease-centered rather than person-centered. Its theoretical framework, which sees diseases as independent entities with their own reality, is fundamentally misguided. This focus on "disease entities" helps explain the absolutely bizarre attitudes that many doctors have towards IBS. I have to go to bed.check out the book below if this interests you!
It's not a conspiracy. The problem lies in the education of doctors, especially the older ones. There are quite a few diseases and stuff out there that doctors simply do not test for when you come in with complaints because they aren't very common. In this case, the bacterial parasite probably presented with the same types of symptoms as IBS, and as a result the doctor made the more common diagnosis, that being IBS. Hope this helps somewhat. :-)
This is an interesting question. I believe, and have found, that many diseases of my age (I'm 52) were called by different names than they are now. For instance, "acid indigestion" is now called by the name of GERD or acid reflux disease. There is a very simple cure to it. Stop eating highly refined foods, and extremely spicy foods as well. This is caused by the high intake of fats, refined food products of today as well as a much higher consumption of meat. When my mom grew up, (on a farm in Iowa), they had meat twice a month, when they would kill a chicken that had stopped laying eggs. Otherwise, they usually ate oatmeal for breakfast, potatoes and gravy along with fresh vegetables from their garden in the summer, or canned vegetables from their garden in the winter, and usually some type of beans. For dinner their mother made hearty vegetable stews and they had fresh fruits for desserts. Her family grew up very healthy and she lived until she was 96 years old when she finally succumbed to cancer (she smoked for 80 years)!
This is only one example. Consumption was actually lung cancer back in the day and there are various diseases that are still in existence today, though they are the same with only slight variations from the 1800's and even further back. Most disease is found in the affluent communities, due to a much higher fat and refined food product consumption. If you would like to read an excellent book about "the rich man's diseases," you should read "The China Study," by T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D. He has lots of interesting research to back up his philosophy of why Americans are one of the sickest nations today. He calls diabetes, heart disease and cancer, diseases of affluence. He cites more than one example of studies that have been done that the common man isn't aware of, though they suggest that the consumption of dairy and meats are the root causes of the above mentioned diseases. He also states that through extensive research, he and his colleagues found that by feeding rats a soy based protein, they could "cure" cancerous growths on the animals. By returning them to a meat and cheese based protein, the animals growths returned in abundance. They could once again "cure" them of the growths by changing their food source back to soy. I recommend the reading, it's quite an eye opener by someone who knows what he's talking about.
So, though I've taken the long way around, there is a great deal of merit in what you are asking. Yes, I believe that there is a lot of "job security" to be found through doctors and the drug establishment. The more drugs that you take to "balance the system" the more likely you are to find yourself so "out of whack" that your body will find it difficult to heal itself. The natural state of your body is to reflect health, and when it doesn't, it means that you aren't taking in the proper food to help it heal itself. There is great wisdom in the body, you need to learn to trust it. Somewhere, deep inside of us all, we know what we need to do to retain our health. The problem comes in our willingness to DO what is required because no one wants to give up what they like to achieve optimum health, they would much rather take a pill and hope for the best.
Best of luck and I hope I've answered your question.
Try some enteric coated Peppermint oil capsules, along with probiotics and digestive enzyme tablets. I know several people who have had good results from such a regimen.
