How can i prevent varicose veins? without surgery?
Answer:
Try these recommendations--tests show they help
1. try organic horse chestnut tincture (use a standardized extract for this as it is suggested not to use homemade --not recommended but to be in the side side and follow the suggestions in the safety standards for this herb, use a standardized extract .. .also do not use if you have kidney or liver problems.
2. also organic butchers broom tincture (capsules are NOT a good way to take herbs..not absorbed well)
3. take cayenne for circulation and ginkgo (veins and arteries).and ginger (capillaries)..taking raw garlic (3 cloves a day (must be raw) with each dose of the recommended cayenne will reverse plague on arterier/veins which will help them. Cayenne makes ginkgo and every other herb more effective also...the hotter cayenne you can take, the better)
4. some foods like blueberries are said to strengthen vein strength
5. Take hot and cold showers focusing the shower wand on all sides of the legs. Turn water as hot as you can stand one minute then switch temperature of water to ice cold or cold as you can take it. Massage while doing it..do 7 hots and seven colds. If time is short a particular night, do 15 seconds hot and 15 seconds cold and do 7 of each. May also use hot and cold compresses..add chamomile tea to the compress.
6. Rub an astringent herb like oak bark, witch hazel, etc to the legs...sometimes do that and sometimes do the vinegar rub (see link)--can make an extract/tincture or a tea or witch hazel (get from health food store ready made)
7.. See these links for more and for other suggestions.

Enamel or lacquer spray.
Sadly, I don't think any crams have been proven to prevent varicose veins. Better to try elastic stockings and leg raising just before bedtime
Try avoiding hot water hitting your feet while bathing, varicose veins get worse this way. And ask your pharmacist about pressure-applying stockings or pantihose
Well there is no pill, or lotion, or salve that will make any difference. The root of the problem are with a breakdown of the valves in superficial veins. You can wear the stockings as other posters have said also you can elevate your legs above your heart to reduce pressure on the veins. Finally don't ever get pregnant as this will easily cause them.
Horsechestnut, butcher's broom are two herbs. Combine one or both with ginger to greatly increase their effectiveness.

Varicose veins are caused when the circulation in that particular vein stops. (This is usually caused by standing in one place for a long time). Once the vein becomes clotted(no longer flowing) The vein dies off and turns blue due to the lack of oxygen. My best advice is to get a professional massage. If you can not afford that, try not to stand completely still for long periods of time. Do a little dance if you have to. You can even massage your legs yourself. Do anything you can to keep the blood circulating properly through your legs. Hope that helps.
