Question roughly speaking acupuncture?

I had it done past but I wasn't sure of the last factor he did to me. He had me story on my stomach and had a candle over me for about 20 minutes. What do they phone call this part of it?

Answer:
Quackery. Acupuncture is thousands of years old-fashioned...and a true practitioner would NOT do anything like this! Stay AWAY! It works VERY resourcefully in honest hand!
Sounds like moxibustion. It looks resembling a cigar. When held over the body, it gives stale a warmth to be exact quite soothing. It can also look resembling an incense candle which can lie directly on the skin to do equal thing..
candle? No this be not acupuncture please find another DOM.
Your acupuncturist must have have a session of "moxibustion" on you.
Moxibustion is a technique used in traditional Chinese drug in which a stick or cone of burning mugwort, Artemesia vulgaris, is placed over an inflamed or artificial area on the body. The cone is placed on an acupuncture point and burned. The cones is removed past burning the skin. The purpose is to stimulate and strengthen the blood and the life life, or qi, of the body.

There are two types of moxibustion: direct and indirect. In direct moxibustion, a small, cone-shaped amount of moxa is placed on top of an acupuncture point and burned. This type of moxibustion is further categorized into two types: scarring and non-scarring. With scarring moxibustion, the moxa is placed on a point, ignite, and allowed to remain onto the point until it burns out completely. This may lead to localized scarring, blisters and scarring after uplifting. With non-scarring moxibustion, the moxa is placed on the point and lit, but is extinguished or removed before it burns the skin. The forgiving will experience a pleasant heating sensation that penetrates cavernous into the skin, but should not experience any pain, blistering or scarring unless the moxa is vanished in place for too long.

Indirect moxibustion is currently the more popular form of trouble because there is a much lower risk of spasm or burning. In indirect moxibustion, a practitioner lights one end of a moxa stick, roughly the shape and size of a cigar, and holds it close to the nouns being treated for several minutes until the nouns turns red. Another form of indirect moxibustion uses both acupuncture needles and moxa. A needle is inserted into an acupoint and retained. The tip of the plunger is then wrapped surrounded by moxa and ignited, generate heat to the point and the surrounding nouns. After the desired effect is achieved, the moxa is extinguished and the needle(s) removed.

I am an acupressure psychiatric therapist and use moxa sticks to heal pains. The results are astounding.
