Dragging in the Afternoon - Need Energy!?

I'm a vegan, eat a balanced diet in several small meals a day, usually meditate on my lunch break, and drink plenty of water and several cups of green tea every day. But by the time 3 p.m. rolls around, I'm dragging. (I work in an office with no windows and usually work until 6.) Any advice for how to get to the finish line? By the time I get home, I'm usually fine. Thanks! - Oh, and I have fibromyalgia.

Answer:
that doesn't sound like a balanced diet to me, I bet or guarantee you're not getting enough protein.

To enhance or augment that lack of protein you might want to eat protein rich foods around that dragging time. some peanut butter or soy nuts.
make a smootie w/ lots of fruits and vitamins
Is there any way you could take a short break outside? My office is dark, too, and just a few minutes outside on a sunny day really helps.

And have you tried adjusting your breakfast? I find that a protein-heavy breakfast leaves me less tired in the afternoon than, say, a fruit and toast breakfast.
Europeans have got us beat, hands down! Naptime...siesta...that's why it exists...cuz our bodies request it.

Try to find an hour's time where you can shut your eyes...approach your boss or supervisor with a proposition...you be allowed a break maybe as part of your lunch break every day for a week. if you are not more productive during the afternoons of that week, it's not doing you any good...

I can almost GUARANTEE you positive results.

try it out. Can't hurt to ask as long as you phrase it properly!

Best of luck!
You might need to eat more protein. Your vegan diet is probably pretty high in sugar/simple carbs
Sublingual (under the tongue) vitamin B-12 works wonders for me. It's good for you, and it gives me a little jolt in the afternoons, but without caffiene. I had the same problem as you, dragging in the afternoons, not getting enough sunshine during the work week. So my doctor told me to stop drinking caffiene except one cup in the morning. I was like, "What!?! Are you nuts? I will die without my Starbucks!!" He told me to give it a week and do the sublingual B-12. Darned if he wasn't right. I hate it when they're right.
spirulina
gurana
vitamin b
Take a big bite of steak and you'll feel better. Also fibromyalgia is a psychosomatic disorder that doesn't exist..

I have found an amazing drink that may be ideal for your situation. Due to the fact that you have such an overwhelming schedule, you may want to consider this drink.

For me, it helps me feel so much better and gives me a sustained energy level. It is considered an energy drink, but it doesn't have all of the caffeine and sugar like most other energy drinks do.

If you are like me, you are concerned about your health so you may want to check this out for yourself. I found this drink at www.carlshealthhelp.com/energy
