What's the fastest way to get rid of a cold?
Answer:
There are no shortcuts. Drink lots of fluids, get lots of REST, stay warm, take aspirin or ibuprofen for pains and fever. Don't drink a lot of alcohol because that dries out your air passages and makes it harder to heal.
I find it helps to eat really hot food, like Mexican food with lots of chiles or Indian food. It seems to just clear out my sinuses. Plus you have to eat anyway right? When I was a kid my mom used to make me chicken soup and that really seems to help too. I never tried chicken soup with hot chiles, that might be the wonder cure! 8^)
It's funny, they can't treat a cold, but if you don't take care of it you can get a secondary infection that's much worse. And that they can treat!
Have not had one in a long time, so I guess what I am doing is working (for me, anyway).
Lots of fluids, exercise, eat right (no meat, no crap foods). limit dairy. A positive outlook is invaluable as well!!
sweat it out and drink warm tea
Eat right and take plenty of fluids let nature take its course. Lets just imagine if you can that a cold is just an exercise regieme for your immune system. If your immune system is not up to par then concider changing your diet and start to eliminate as much stress as possible.
eat lots of lemons, oranges and and drink fruit juices. flush it out with vitamin C! lemon tea is really nice :-)
You cannot cure a cold but you can alleviate the symptoms.
Plenty of fluids, take regular vitimin C. If you have a temperature, take paracetemol every 6hours, this is an anti pyretic it's function is to help lower your temperature as well as alleviate aches and pains. (do not take more than 8 per day).
Hope this helps :-)
Cold-Eeze! look for it in your drug store, it was clinically proven to shorten your cold by 42%
also, drink lots of fluids, chicken soup, rest, what everyone else is saying!
