Human Euthanasia?

I am just curious on people's perspectives about this. I know it is extremely contravercial and touchy. Do you think that it is okay to practice human euthanaia in extreme cases such as someone in your family is in so much pain and they just want to die because everyday is hell...or if you are in a vegetative stae and have been on life support for 6 years...is it okay then? What if you request that if anything happens to you where you are in pain or become a human vegetable, should it be okay to request the plugs be pulled and they give you a sedative that "puts you to sleep"? If the family okay's it, is it still okay to do?

Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

Answer:
I think that if anyone wants to die then they should be allowed to die. People who are suffering from depression (not painful disease) should seek therapy first though. To force someone who is suffering a slow death due to cancer or something similar to live is just cruel.

As for vegatative states, that one's a bit ticky. I think that the person closest to the vegger should make the decision of whether or not to pull the plug and only after the vegger has been ecvaluated by several doctors.
Yes, yes, and yes. People should be free to choose euthanasia above suffering. Is life so precious that it needs to be sustained regardless of that person's wishes? I would say no, no one needs to suffer needlessly.
doctors are pretty good about keeping people from suffering needlessly, they just don't call it euthanasia.
You don't need something to put you to sleep once they pull the life support.
It's generally the family who insists on keeping the patient alive.
If you are capable if breathing, than no, I don't think it's ok.
If one is in tremondous pain, they will induce coma and keep on heavy morphine. If you are close to death they will really up the morphine, and slowly and turn down the breathing machine if you are hooked up.
