What is a natural way to help me fall asleep at night?
Answer:
Lots of people I know drink warm milk. When you warm it up there is some chemical reaction in it to help you sleep.
I drink chamomile tea, and it works well.
count your blessings
my grandma use to make me this kind of tea and it helped me fall asleep quicker
also try counting backwards from 1000.
when i can't sleep at night i take a pill called melatonin. is a natural sleep enhancer that your own body Sucrets from a gland in your body, yes you manufacture melatonin in you but there are times when you may be under stress or other factors nd you body does not produce melatomelatonin(mel-a tow-nin). i use the 3mg. and i try not to take it for more then a couple of weeks. if you take it too long your body will not make enough on its own. this is a temp. fix till you can fix the problem you have of not being able to sleep.
I highly refer to go on this site and maybe you will get satisfied of what you are asking http://www.areyou-sleeping.com/#anchor_2...
If you don't want to have to take anything, try changing your sleeping patterns. It worked wonders for me, but it only works if your willing to put in some effort.
Get up 1 hour earlier than you usually would. Make sure you open your curtains right away so that you are exposed to light for as long as possible. The idea is to make your body feel as though it has been awake for a long time so that you need the sleep at the end of the day.
You can try 5-htp which is actually tryphtopgan that is found in turkey. It has no side effects except for a deep rem sleep
This is my favorite:
Get lavendar, chamomile, and peppermint flowers. You can find these at a natural food store or at a tea shop. Next, get some white rice and a clean, soft sock. Pour the rice into the sock about half-way, then add the teas (not bagged, make them loose).
Tie up the open end of the sock with yarn, ribbon, or thread.
Shake the sock well, then throw into the microwave for about 2 minutes.
The rice will hold the heat well, and the heat will release the healing, calming properties of the dried leaves.
Good dreams!

I use honey instead of sugar... 30 min's later I am sleepy.
I usually read for a half hour or so before bed and drink some chamomile tea (yep its great!). Also make sure the lighting is low at least an hour before you go to bed. I can't really remember why, but I remember talking about it in one of my psych classes. It has something to do with activating/increasing the serotonin I think.
Consider a warm bath too. I've never gotten into the warm milk thing, but I really think I need to give that rice sock a try sometime
When it is time to sleep, the brain produces melatonin, a substance that relaxes you. When melatonin production drops for any number of reasons a person can have trouble falling asleep. 100% pure tart montmorency cherry concentrate is loaded with natural melatonin that could help you if this is the case. Sometimes this is not the case and additional melatonin will not put you to sleep.
Also take PNT 200, it is like taking valium, but it is not a drug and it is not addictive. It is a natural peptide. It really works great to eliminate stress and let you fall asleep.
These two taken together will help you, they are all natural and will really help with the insomnia.
Additionally a 1 oz. serving of Cherry concentrate provides the recommended daily dose of Antioxidants equal to 3700 ORAC units. It is a natural source of Melatonin and Anthocyanins. Anthocyanins help relieve arthritis, gout, joint and muscle pain. Melatonin helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep, is great for the nervous system and has been shown to double the available glutathione in the brain. There are over 4,000 antioxidants, each doing the same thing – neutralizing free radicals and each have its own special function.
God bless and good sleeping
