'DVT' It claimed more lives than AIDS & Cancer combined together? Who are the Victims?

It has claimed more lives then AIDS, Cancer combined together, it's shocking to know that rarely the victims are aware of the cause of death.
Any survivors OR someone known to (DVT) patients please submit your precious ANSWERs enlightening more about the problem Symptoms, Precautions, Treatment, Cure etc.,

The reason it is such a killer is it is pretty much symptomless until it's too late. There might be a slight ache in the legs, but no big deal. My daughter, an athlete, had a clot pass up through her heart and hit her lungs and virtually felt nothing until it hit her lungs. Then she hit the floor in agonizing pain. They used massive amounts of blood thinner, coumadin I believe, to break up the clot and she survived, but had to remain on coumadin for a long time. Thats scary in itself.
